Conformative Systems, EqualLogic and Revivio Receive Investors' Choice Awards
Waltham, MA - September 29, 2004 - VentureWire today announced the recipients of its Investors' Choice awards at its annual Datacenter Ventures Private Equity conference held in Redwood City, Calif., on Sept. 21 and 22. The award recognizes start-up technology companies that are best positioned for long-term success in the security and storage industries. Among the 10 recipients of the Investors' Choice Award were three Charles River Venture-backed companies, including:
• Conformative Systems, Austin, Texas (www.conformative.com)-- A provider of application-specific parallel computer systems for service-oriented enterprises. • EqualLogic, Nashua, N.H. (www.equallogic.com)-- A provider of ISCI-based storage-area networking. • Revivio, Lexington, Mass. (www.revivio.com)-- A developer of data protection appliances.
"The corporate datacenter is of increasing importance, and these Investors' Choice winners have the best chance to make an impact in this market," said Richard A. Shaffer, editor in chief of VentureWire, which is published by Dow Jones Newswires.
More than 350 business leaders, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and industry analysts attended the conference and judged the competition. They selected the 10 award winners out of 68 closely held companies that were invited to present their business plans at the conference.
"It comes as no surprise that these companies would be recognized as early leaders in the datacenter. The innovation and market momentum they have already achieved speaks to the huge market potential in front of them," said Chris Baldwin, partner, Charles River Ventures. "We congratulate each of these companies on this achievement and anticipate great things for them in their respective markets."
