Reva TAP Named “2007 Product of the Year”
RFID network infrastructure appliance recognized for global market breakthrough
Chelmsford, Mass., April 11, 2007 – Reva Systems further established itself as the world’s leading RFID network infrastructure provider. Today, Reva announced that its flagship Tag Acquisition Processor™ (TAP) product has just been voted “2007 Product of the Year” by the Massachusetts Network Communications Council (MassNetComms). The award is decided annually through industry peer voting, and was delivered at a ceremony attended by more than 400 networking and telecommunications industry leaders.
“The Product of the Year award recognizes companies that combine true innovation with leading-edge technology to deliver real performance advantages to end users,” said Mark Horan, executive director for MassNetComms. “Massachusetts network technology companies enjoy a long tradition of excellence in national and global arenas. Reva has clearly set itself upon the world stage in terms of market vision and business development, and this award honors their efforts to put Massachusetts in the middle of global RFID.”
Reva’s TAP is the industry’s first RFID network infrastructure appliance. The TAP manages readers in real time to provide accurate, actionable RFID tag data via standardized interfaces. The result is a reliable, scalable RFID network with low cost implementation and management.
“We appreciate the recognition of our peers in the networking industry at a time when RFID is being deployed across various industries in projects driven by real needs and their own intrinsic commercial value,” said David Husak, co-founder and chief technical officer of Reva Systems. “In production deployments the TAP proves to be a high performance, standards-based foundation delivering accurate data to applications resulting in a swift return on investment.”
